Is an Oil-free Air Compressor The Best?

Many industries have shifted to using oil-free compressors and they have become very important for pharmaceutical labs, hospitals, medical clinics, conductor manufacturing companies, and other industrial manufacturers. Air compressors and oil-free compressors work the same way but have slightly different mechanisms. With a normal air compressor, as the piston turns inside the chamber, the air comes out. With an oil-free compressor, the piston doesn’t need any oil or lubrication to function. The cylinders are already lubricated.

How an oil-free compressor works

After the air enters through the unloader valve, it is forced through an air filter so it’s clean and safe and there is no debris that can cause damage to the components of the compressor. Then the compressor proceeds to pump the air into the chamber. The valve opens to allow the compressor to pump air. Once it closes, the compressor starts operating and refuses to take in more air.

Why everyone should switch to an oil-free compressor

Many industries and people are switching to oil-free compressors from air compressors because they’re realizing the positive impact it has on the environment and how convenient it is to use.

It enables the availability of high-quality air for any sort of industrial job. By switching to oil-free compressors, you will not only be helping the environment but also eradicate toxic emissions, reduce operating costs by a huge margin, conserve natural resources, have a constant supply of clean air and decrease the harmful risk of contamination.

  • Lightweight: they are very light in weight as they only have a few components inside. They averagely weigh approximately 18-20 pounds. This makes it a very good option for medium to small jobs in your home or garage.
  • Almost no maintenance: a normal air compressor needs regular oil changes to operate perfectly. You need to clean the filters and other oil elements in the compressor for it to work properly. With an oil-free compressor, you don’t have to do any of that. There is no hassle of cleaning and changing parts with an oil-free compressor. Oil-free compressors can start at any temperature no matter how cold or hot it is.
  • Cost-efficient: you can save a ton of money by switching to an oil-free compressor. As there are only a few components inside, you’ll save up a lot of money by not having to replace and change the parts regularly. You don’t have to replace filters, you don’t have to buy oil elements and you will save a lot of money on energy as most of them have regulators to switch on the compressors.
  • So many uses: You can easily use them for whatever task you want as they’re so lightweight, small and there’s no leakage issue as well.
