SULLAIR is the right brand for you to go to if you are not looking for something small. These Air Compressors are not for domestic usage, but instead commercial large-scale or industrial air compressors. It would not be wrong to call SULLAIR one of the largest Industrial Scale Air Compressors Manufacturers in the US. These air compressors are serving a wide range of applications with numerous industrial-scale manufacturing, HVAC, and other units.

SULLAIR Air Compressor Problems

While you cannot think of having some issues with these air compressors from SULLAIR, no machine is without its flaws. There are certain things that you must know that you might have to face on these Air Compressors from SULLAIR. A few common problems that you might have to face with these SULLAIR Industrial Air Compressors and their solutions are:

1) Air Intake Problems

There are two types of Air Intake that you will have to be careful about on these air compressors. One of these intakes is for the motor to run and the other one is for the air needed to be compressed. If any of the air intakes are getting restricted air, that can cause you to have some problems. It might be stuttering of the motor, or not getting enough air inside the chambers to be compressed.

This should not be a big issue to deal with, and with the basic knowledge of motors and mechanics, you can get it fixed. You only have to make sure that there are no obstacles that might be blocking the flow of air inside the intakes.

Another thing that you will have to do is take the filters apart and clean them up properly. This will ensure that the dust particles that might be clogging it are not causing the airflow to be restricted. If you still face the problem, replace the air filter with appropriate ones that you can get from SULLAIR and that is going to help you in making it work out perfectly.

2) Oil Grade

One more thing that you must be careful about is choosing the right oil grade and viscosity on it. This is something that you cannot get wrong on these Air Compressors as these are industrial air compressors with huge motors running in them.

If you feel like the motor is generating more heat and noise than it should, there must be something wrong with the oil grade and you will have to take care of that. You should be using the viscosity and grade of the oil that is recommended by SULLAIR and don’t make any changes of your own. Also, follow the oil change schedules regularly and keep changing the oil in your motor at the right intervals.

3) Smoke Coming out

If you face the problem of smoke coming out of the cylinder, that can be quite worrisome for you. It can happen after extended usage of the Air Compressor. The smoke is caused due to the burning of your engine lubricant oil. If you are facing the problem with the black smoke coming out of your cylinder, you will need to check on two things.

First of all, you will have to make sure that you are checking on the piston rings. If the piston rings are working out, they can cause oil leakage in the combustion chamber and that will cause you to have this black smoke. If you feel like the piston rings are worn out, you will have to get them replaced with some tech and that is going to help you find your way out of this problem in the right manner.

Secondly, you will have to check on the gasket as well and make sure that it is not damaged or leaking at any point. This will not only cause you to have heating issues, but smoke problems can also be caused due to gasket problems. You will have to get your technician to check on the gasket as well and replace it properly if needed. Getting the gasket changed can be something extensive and a big repair. So make sure that you get it done with some technician recommended by SULLAIR and that will help you out perfectly in fixing the problem.
